GOVERNORS Nasir el-Rufai and Ibikunle Amosun of Kaduna and Ogun states respectively, and some members of the National Assembly were among the worshippers who observed the Jumat prayers with President Muhammadu Buhari at State House, Abuja mosque on Friday.
The mosque service was in commemoration of the occasion of the Easter.
In his sermon, the Imam of the State House Mosque, Sheik Abdulwaheed Abubakar Sulaiman, called on Muslims and Christians to unite as brothers and sisters given the common Abrahamic origin of their religions.
Addressing the congregation, the cleric stressed the need for them to share kindness and hospitality.
“We all belong to God and to Him we will be going back,” he said adding that Muslims have the duty to follow the path of Prophet Muhammed (SAW) as defined in the Qur’an.
He urged Muslims and Christians to unite behind the administration of President Buhari as it fights corruption and insecurity in the land, at the same time seeking economic recovery and prosperity for all.
