TWO young persons, said to be of the same parents, were killed in a clash on Friday in Igbara Odo community in Ekiti South West Local Government Area of Ekiti State.

Following the mayhem, the state government has imposed a seven-day dusk-to-dawn curfew on the town.
While some sources claimed that the crisis was precipitated by cultists, others contended that it was spearheaded by leaders of the community’s students union.
It was gathered that the students, including some graduates, had distributed pamphlets last Saturday, in which they asked their monarch, the Arajaka, to account for the funds realised from the community’s day celebration.
They were said to have also demanded to be included in the community’s council of chiefs, among other demands.
Thereafter, they made for the palace where they reportedly destroyed vehicles and other valuables found within the vicinity.
They also reportedly attacked the police station in the town and assaulted the divisional police officer and injured one of his men in the process.
Governor Ayodele Fayose visited the community late in the evening of Friday in company with the Commissioner of Police, Mr Abdullahi Chafe and other security operatives and met with the townspeople.
He vowed to get to the root of the crisis and announced the curfew, starting from 6.00 p.m. to 7.00 a.m. daily.
“This is a very bad development. It is a big shame on the community. I am assuring you that we will get to the root of this matter and ensure that the perpetrators are dealt with,” the governor said.
