Equities Rebound As NSE Indices Rise By 0.52%

The Nigerian equities market rebounded from the negative performance recorded on Wednesday on renewed interest in bellwethers and reactions to positive earnings releases.
Accordingly, the All Share Index improved by 0.5 per cent to settle at 25,753.00 points, paring year-to-date loss to 4.2 per cent, while market capitalisation rose from N45.7 billion to N8.9 trillion.
The All-Share Index rose by 132.06 bases points or 0.52 percent to close at 25,753.00 points from 25,620.00 it closed previously while market capitalisation appreciated by N45.7 billion to close at N8.911 trillion from N8.865 trillion it closed on Wednesday.
Nestle Nigeria led gainers’ table when its share price added N12.00 to close at N725.5 per share, it was seconded by Stanbic Bank, which raked additional 158 kobo to close at N25.00 per share.
Dangote Cement Company recorded 100 kobo to close at N160.00 per share, Guaranty Trust Bank grabbed 58 kobo to close at N26.63 per share, while UAC of Nigeria recorded 47 kobo to close at N14.47 per share, among others.
Conversely, Unilever Nigeria went down by 345 kobo to close at N32.05 per share, leading top price losers for the day. It was followed by WAPCO which slipped by 300 kobo to close at N48.5 per share, Okomu Palm Oil dropped 95 kobo to close at N47.05 per share.
Dangote Flour Mill lost 19 kobo to close at N4.09 per share, while Africa Prudential Registrars depreciated by 13 kobo to close at N2.57 per share, among others.
Access Bank emerged the most traded equity on Thursday with an exchange of 104.623 million Shares worth N658.227 million.
It was followed by Fidelity Bank having accounted for 33.664 million shares valued at N27.709 million, Guaranty Trust Bank traded 30.677 million shares valued at N829.035 million; Zenith Bank sold 30.169 million shares valued at N447.564 million while Transnational Incorporated exchanged 26.379 million shares worth N22.599 million.
Investors traded a total of 371.760 million shares worth N2.806 billion in 3,627.00 deals compared with a total of 225.726 million shares worth N1.668 billion in 2,845.00 deals were traded on Wednesday.
