INEC flags off voters' registration in Kogi
The
National Commissioner of INEC in charge of Kogi, Plateau and Nasarawa
states, Mr Haruna Mohammed on Thursday flagged off the Continuous Voters
Registration (CVR) exercise in Lokoja, the Kogi state capital.
The INEC Commissioner in an
address at the flag off, called on all eligible voters in the state who
are yet to be captured on the Commission's register to do so in order
not to be disenfranchised.
He said
the CVR exercise which holds simultaneously across the 774 local
government areas in the country, will continue until the conclusion of
the general election in 2019.
Haruna said the Commission has
provided a team of four Registration Area Officers and a Distribution
Officer at each registration point in the LGAs to handle the exercise.
He urged political parties and
other stakeholders to encourage their supporters to come out for the
presentation while those that are yet to collect their PVCs should
equally do so.
