Sports 500 golfers for IBB Captain’s Cup tournament
The event which commences tomorrow will end on Saturday, April 22 at the IBB golf course.
A member of the organizing committee, Dr Lambert Agugua said as part of preparation for the event, a press conference has been scheduled to hold at the Club House this morning.
He said, “The annual event usually ends with the prestigious Captain’s Cup, which has been scheduled for Saturday, April 22, 2017.
“This signals the close of club’s activities for the year as well as the tenure of the present Club Captain, Chief Okey Igweh, who was elected for the post around this time last year.
“About 500 players are expected to participate in the various activities lined up for the Captain’s Club competition which include a golf competition to be played by the Pros of the Club, Inter Club friendly match play, Tennis Tournament and other activities.”
Agugua also said there would be an award night to be attended by prominent personalities including the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, Minister of Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Minister of Sports and a host of others.
In addition, he said the overall winner of the competition will be announced at the Dinner.
