CAF Confederation Cup play-off second-leg match report SuperSport United vs Barrack Young Controllers

SuperSport United go in search of a place in the CAF Confederation Cup group stages as they host Barrack Young Controllers in the play-off second-leg at Lucas Moripe Stadium today.
It took United a little over 120 seconds to open the scoring in Tshwane, Teboho Mokoena crossing in for Thabo Mnyamane, who controlled well before rifling his shot past the keeper and into the back of the net.
Aubrey Modiba then came within inches of doubling Matsatsantsa’s lead with 17 minutes gone after getting on the end of Mnyamane’s telling delivery, only to head his effort wide of the mark.
Shortly after the half-hour mark SuperSport got their second, Mnyamane turning provider, powering his way through the defence before picking out an unmarked Jeremy Brockie, who duly tapped into an empty net.
Pre-match
The two sides take with them a 1-1 draw from the first leg in Liberia, meaning SuperSport hold the advantage of an away goal, scored by Fagrie Lakay in the reverse fixture.
However, Matsatsantsa may still be stinging from their 5-0 hammering at the hands of Mamelodi Sundowns in the Absa Premiership in midweek, a result which left United’s league title aspirations in trouble.
TEAMS:
SuperSport: Williams, Kekana, Daniels, Mashamaite, Farmer, Furman (Letsholonyane 59'), Mokoena, Morton, Modiba, Mnyamane, Brockie (Lakay 66')
Subs: Pule, Boxall, Ritchie, Phala, Nkhatha
