‘PPA gov’ship aspirant can’t be Obiano’s deputy’
Mr Tony Okigbo,
the Special Assistant on Grassroots Mobilisation and Enlightenment to
the Anambra State Governor Willie Obiano has said that the governorship
aspirant of the Progressive People’s Alliance (PPA), Chief Godwin
Ezeemo, is not competent to be a deputy governor.
Okigbo said although the PPA
gubernatorial aspirant may have all it takes for such a job, the
position still remained the exclusive preserve of members of the All
Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
Ezeemo had earlier said that he never
contemplated becoming a deputy to Governor Obiano in the November
governorship election, claiming he had turned down the offer severally.
But Okigbo, while briefing journalists
yesterday in Awka, noted that Obiano already had a deputy that was doing
well in the discharge of his official duties.
He added that there were credible members who could as well be chosen if it became necessary.
