2019: Kano APC youth in search of Kwankwasiyya loyalists
A faction of the
All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State yesterday said it has
begun a search for aspirants with ‘Kwankwasiyya’ ideology ahead of 2019.
Leaders of Kwankwasiyya Pillars of the
Nation said they were working towards voting out the present political
office holders in the state, whom they said “have derailed from the
ideologies that brought them to power.”
At a press briefing yesterday in Kano,
the secretary of the group, Comrade Ishak Ja’afar Gandun Albasa, said
they were sad because the present crop of leaders in Kano had derailed
from the ideology that propelled them to success.
Gandun Albasa, who is also the state
coordinator, National Coalition for Good Governance (NACOGG), said the
successes recorded during the reign of Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso as
governor had been disrupted.
“The achievements recorded by Kwankwaso
made him a point of reference not only in Kano but across Nigeria. That
is why we, the youth in APC, decided to ensure that only those with his
ideology emerged victorious in 2019. We would also see to the time when
Kwankwaso will lead the nation as president,” he added.
