Stock investment strengthened with N62bn profit
The Nigerian stocks Investment gained more strength yesterday as the market appreciated by 0.64 per cent to sustain its gaining mood for third consecutive session.
Consequently, the NSE All-Share Index (ASI) gained 181.18 points and market capitalisation recorded N62 billion gain to close at 28,467.61 absolute points and N9.841 trillion respectively.
As 30 gaining stocks emerged against 14 declining ones 12 0thers that closed on flat prices, market breadth closed positive and similarly, the turnover for the session appreciated as stock volume and value traded rose by 34.49 per cent and 43.35 per cent respectively.
Nestle Nigeria Plc led other gainers with N20 gain to close at N870 per share. Guaranty trust Bank Plc (GTB) and Stanbic Plc gained N1 each to close at N33.60k and N26.01k per share respectively..
Meanwhile, the session closed with N4.96 billion staked on 418.94 million shares in 3,944 trades as against N3.46 billion investors bet on 311.28 million units of shares in 4,194 transactions in the previous session.
