Buhari fit for 2019 — Miyetti Allah
The Coordinator
of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBAN) in Benue State,
Alhaji Garus Gololo, yesterday said that President Muhammadu Buhari is
healthy and capable to contest for a second term in 2019 if he still
wishes to do so.
Already, Buhari’s re-election posters have flooded strategic places in Makurdi yesterday.
Gololo, in an interview with our
correspondent in Makurdi, alleged that those asking the president to
resign his office on account of ill health were people in opposition
parties who don’t mean well for the country.
“The president is healthy. We (Miyetti
Allah) met with him in Abuja few days ago and shook hands with him; so I
can categorically state that he is capable of contesting for
re-election in 2019. The call for his resignation is the handiwork of
the opposition,” he said.
He also dismissed reports that certain
members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Benue State at the
weekend defected to the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the
local government elections in June.
Gololo, who is the Special Assistant to
Governor Samuel Ortom on Fulani Matters, said “the so called defection”
was a mere propaganda by the PDP, adding that the APC remains strong and
a party to beat in the coming polls.
