The Managing Director of BUA Sugar Refinery in Lafiagi, Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State, Alhaji Ibrahim Yaro, yesterday disclosed that the company is targeting 2 million metric tonnes of sugar production annually.

‎He also urging the Federal Government  to curtail host communities’ hostilities‎ in the country so as to encourage  investments to thrive and also fast track the process of healing  the nation’s economy.

‎He said this in Lafiagi during the inspection visit of the minister of state for Industry, Trade and Investment, Hajiya Aisha Abubakar and her entourage to the factory.

“We are focussed, determined and vigorously matching forward to meet our set targets. We are targeting the production of 2 million tons of sugar cane annually and this segment alone could produce over 4,000 jobs,while thousands of employment ‎would be generated at the plant and at an indirect level
