The Wupa
residents have described as unacceptable a situation where sick people
are taken to healthcare centre in other communities on motorcycles.
They called on the authorities of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) to provide them with a primary healthcare centre.
Bitrus Dimas said some people go as far as Gwoza, Lugbe and Gwarinpa in accessing quality healthcare.
He said pregnant women attended their ante natal in Lugbe while some are taken on motorcycles to Gwoza.
He added that the availability of health care facility in the community would relieve them of stress.
Dimas, who spoke on behalf of the residents, said the community has been without electricity for more than seven days.
He said the electric cable that connects
the community had tripped off expressing fear that vandals could steal
the cables if left unattended.
He appealed to the area council authorities to also provide them with potable water and good roads.
