Plateau ambassador designate our member — APC chieftain
A chieftain of
the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau State, Johnson Podar, has
said that the ambassador designate from the state, Dr Bawa Abdullahi
Wase, is a member of the party.
Podar, who was a former gubernatorial
candidate of the defunct Congress for Progressives Change (CPC) in the
state, made the clarification when he addressed newsmen in Jos
yesterday.
He was reacting to media reports on purported petitions against Dr Wase suggesting that he was not a member of the APC.
He stated that Wase was a pioneer member of the Buhari Organisation (TBO), the CPC and now a registered member of the APC.
“He is a committed member who
contributed to the victories of the party during the 2015 elections; he
served as member of the steering committee of the presidential
inauguration,” he said.
He added that there was no petition
against Wase before President Muhammadu Buhari nominated him and the
subsequent confirmation by the Senate.
