‘MMA2 processed 20m passengers, 400,000 flights in 10 years’

Managing
Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bi-Courtney Aviation
Services Limited (BASL), Captain Jari Williams has disclosed that the
Murtala Mohammed Airport two (MMA2) processed 20m passengers in 10
years.
According to him, the privately run terminal has the capacity to process four million passengers annually.
Speaking during a press briefing on the
10th year anniversary of the terminal, Williams said the terminal also
handled 400,000 flights and created employment opportunities for over
100,000 people in the past 10 years.
GWX, a key and leading logistics company
in Nigeria, described MMA2 as a great success story of a pioneering PPP
initiative in the aviation industry in Nigeria.
The General Manager, Corporate Services,
GWX, which runs BASL’s cargo processing facility, Mr. Bright Aghogban,
says the company will continue to partner Bi-Courtney to raise the bar
on air transport safety in Nigeria.
“MMA2 is indeed a great success story of
a pioneering PPP initiative in the aviation industry in Nigeria. It
reinforces the belief that if given a chance, Nigerians can build
Nigeria and make the economy to become one of the 20 greatest in the
world in line with the Federal Government’s vision 20:2020”, he said.
The company lauded the Board, Management
and Staff of BASL for successfully managing the world-class facility in
line with global best practice in the past 10 years.
It also lauded the BASL management for
consistently keeping the sprawling terminal in international standard
since inception in 2007.
