Subaru Folawiyo, 22, was yesterday dragged before Yaba Chief Magistrates Court for allegedly gang-raping a 25-year-old woman with some of his friends.

The lady is said to be girlfriend of the young man.

Those who participated along with Subaru in the gang raping are presently on the run.

Folawiyo, who resides in Surulere area of Lagos, however pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge of conspiracy and rape slammed on him.

The prosecutor, Sergeant Ibijoke Akinpelu, told the court that the accused with others still at large committed the offences on April 4, 2016 at about 3.52 p.m. at Block 4, Flat 2, Off Bello Road, Surulere.

Akinpelu alleged that Subaru and his accomplices gang raped the lady.

He however, did not say if the incident took place in the residence of the accused 

He said that the accused was later apprehended after the girl reported the case at the police station.

The Magistrate, Mrs. A.F. Adeeyo, granted the accused bail in the sum of N200, 000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case to May 31, 2017.
