Etisalat launches 4G network in Abuja

Etisalat Nigeria has launched its 4G/LTE network in Abuja, even as it said the N541.8 billion debt it is owing to some banks is not holding its expansion plan down.
Speaking at the launch of the 4G technology in Abuja, Etisalat Nigeria Vice President (Marketing), Mr Adebisi Idowu said the debt issue was being settled and Etisalat would soon get over it.
“We are not worried as this has not affected our business operations a bit. We are fully on course, and we don’t have any reason to worry’’, Mr Idowu said.
But explaining advantages of the 4G technology to the audience at the launch, the Etisalat Chief Technical Officer Beuvelet Stephane said the technology would bridge the digital gap between Nigerians and people from advantaged economies, and also help improve the lives of Nigerians.
He said after Abuja, the company would this week launch the network in cities like Kaduna and Kano, while it would also be launched in Port Harcourt soon.
