Edo gov’ship: Ize-Iyamu heads to Appeal Court
The PDP in Edo State and its governorship candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize - Iyamu,   have approached the Appeal Court challenging the judgement of the election petition tribunal in the state, which upheld the declaration of Godwin Obaseki as winner.
Respondents in the appeal included INEC, Obaseki and the APC.
The petitioners had set out 41 grounds of appeal in which they averred that the judgement of the tribunal was against the weight of evidence and urged the appellant court to allow the appeal.
Other reliefs sought by the appellants included an order setting aside the decision of the tribunal, and an order nullifying the return of the 2nd Respondent.
The appellants also wanted Ize-Iyamu to be declared governor in the election held on 28 September, 2016.
