Is Don Jazzy Losing The Magic Touch? Hypa Taking Over DNA For The P Square Spot [See Why]

Popular Nigerian MusicproducerDon Jazzy the man with the magic touch as we all know played primary roles in the career of the likes of D’banj, Wande Coal, Reekado banks, Korede Bello. Not so much has been heard from him since the hip TV brouhaha with Olamide Baddo. Even when he signed his new acts DNA, Poe and Jonny Drille to Mavin records unlike others, there was no buzz. This is not the Jazzy we used to know. Sometime ago, being on the Mavin imprint was enough for instant success but as we speak probably only music lovers know he recently signed 3 or maybe 4 new talented acts. Jonny drille was doing quite well for himself before Mavin but at the moment only little can be said of him. When news got out that Don Jazzy signed the music group DNA, quite a lot of people thought it was going to open doors for them having being in the limelight from the 2 talent shows they participated in. As a group music it seemed like they were heir to the P square throne, until lately when the music group Hypa sprung up. The Okoye brothers popularly known as Psquare have grown to become big boys in the Nigeria music industry with their music breaking national and continental boundaries to the world. The love for Psquare in the music scene started from the Era of Bizzy Body, their debut hit track which comes with visuals that portrayed them as promising African Pop Stars doing good music alongside exciting dance moves. From 2003 till now, it is not unsafe to conclude that the Psquare brothers are at the very peak of their career. With the money, assets, investments, endorsements, awards, it is obvious that Peter and Paul Okoye are fulfilled artistes. This reasons and many more have contributed to the recent slow grind of the Okoye brothers. Money Don dey, so the efforts of Psquare in making music has reduced drastically. A very good example is the loss of those amazing dance choreography in some of their latest works. However, questions are now emerging from every angle in the music industry as regards the music group that can fill the space of the legendary Psquare brothers. Meanwhile, taking a wide look around the music industry, it is discovered that only two Music groups, DNA twins and Hypa are potential replacement for the Psquare brothers in the industry. But the question is, Which of the two music groups has what it takes to achieve as much as Psquare in the music business? DNA twins’ antecedent in the music scene revolves around their participation in GLO x-factor in 2013 and The Voice Nigeria reality TV show in 2016. Even though they didn’t win any of the two competitions, they won the heart of many music lovers. Their current status as Mavin act seem to be a good chance for them to eventually emerge as the best replacement for the iconic Psquare brothers. But if we must consider the number of artistes under Mavin Boss, Donjazzy right now, the probability that DNA twins will get required attention from the label is very slim. Unlike DNA twins, Hypa brothers are currently signed to Dreams Records and they both seem to be the sole project of their record label. This year, the HYPA brothers have released two hot tracks dubbed “Asiko” and “Alert” which are already getting wavy. Meanwhile, Hypa Brothers and DNA twins have made a very significant stride this year after gaining official entry into the music industry. Of course their efforts so far have made them a potential successor of the grand masters and legendary duo, Psquare.
