FCT health workers’ chairman bags award
The chairman, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) council of Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria (MHWUN), Comrade Abubakar Shanabo, has been honoured by the West African Students Union Parliament (WASUP).
He was presented with an award as the Icon of Societal Development in Nigeria by WASUP majority leader, Comrade Kobehi Kossa, in Abuja.
Comrade Kossa said the union conferred the award on the MHWUN chairman because of his outstanding contributions to the development of the society.
According to him, Comrade Shanabo has helped vulnerable people in the society hence his consideration during the union’s annual congress after a thorough screening of nominees.
In his remark, Comrade Shanabo said he was elated by the recognition.
“The award is a thing of joy and encouragement because with this I will put more effort in the activities of the union,” he said.
